After making a big jump thanks to the 2008 ARRL DX results, Mike Gibson KH6ND has now charged into the lead of the second Oceania WRTC qualifying region, joining Robert McCormack ZL1AIH in leading the race for two team leader slots to the the 2010 competition.
Gibson used multi-ops in both ends of last year's CQ WW to add over 1300 points to his totals. He now leads Terry Ridwan YC1KAF by just over a thousand points. Just a few points behind him is past leader Joz Sefriano YD1JZ.
In OC #1, which is comprised of Australia and New Zealand, McCormick ZL1AIH picked up no points at all from the CQ WW contests, as his lead shrank after the first place regional finish of Bernd Langer VK2IA.
Under the Russian WRTC rules, one team leader slot is available from each of the two Oceania regions.
Here are the top five operators from OC #1 as found by radio-sport.net. A full spreadsheet link for each region is available.
OC #1 includes VK and ZL.

OC #2 has all of Oceania except VK and ZL.

There are two qualifying events left for stations in Oceania, but results must also still come in from six contests that were held earlier this year (Russian DX, WPX CW, WPX SSB, IARU, WAE CW and WAE SSB.)
The unofficial results produced here by radio-sport.net include the final published results of the 2006 and 2007 IARU, the 2006 and 2007 WAE CW and WAE SSB, 2006 the CQ WW CW and SSB contests, 2007 ARRL DX SSB & CW, 2007 Russian DX, 2007 CQ WPX SSB and CW contests, the 2007 CQ WW SSB and CW tests and the 2008 ARRL DX Contests.
(Radio-sport.net has tried to be as accurate as possible. If you find a mistake, or that your score line is missing a contest result, please send us an email and we will be happy to check and correct the numbers.)
The qualifying rules allow you to submit your top eight scores from certain contests. No more than four may be from multi-operator efforts.
You will note that some scores in the spreadsheets have been colored in. All multi-ops are noted with a yellow background. Scores from a contest operation outside of your home WRTC region are colored in blue.
A score that was both outside your home region and from a multi-op has a purple color.
