The leaders of the two Oceania regions in qualifying for the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championships both had leading scores in the recently released results of the 2008 WAE CW Contest, as ZL1AIH and KH6ND are on top in the fight for two qualifying slots.
The first place showing in OC #2 for Mike Gibson KH6ND moved him even closer to qualifying for the 2010 WRTC, as his lead is now almost 2200 points over a pair of Indonesian hams.
Terry Ridwan YC1KAF remains in second in that region, with countryman Joz Sefriano YD1JZ just 14 points behind. Both will need a series of single operator finishes in order to make up ground on Gibson.
Over in the OC #1 region, which includes Australia and New Zealand, the back and forth continues for the leaders there, as a WAE CW regional win for Robert McCormack ZL1AIH has him now ahead of Bernd Langer VK2IA.
McCormack had trailed by 124 points, but his 730 WRTC points from WAE CW now gives him a 606 point advantage over VK2IA.
Moving up into third place is Frank Hunt ZL2BR, who gained 702 points from WAE CW, as the top three all have a chance to win this region.
Under the Russian WRTC rules, one team leader slot is available from each of the two Oceania regions.
Here are the top five operators from OC #1 as found by radio-sport.net. A full spreadsheet link for each region is available.
OC #1 includes VK and ZL.

There is only one qualifying event left for stations in the Oceania region, but results must still come in from five contests that were held in 2008: WPX CW, IARU, WAE SSB and both legs of CQ WW DX.
The unofficial results produced here by radio-sport.net include the final published results of the 2006 and 2007 IARU, the 2006 and 2007 WAE CW and WAE SSB, 2006 the CQ WW CW and SSB contests, 2007 ARRL DX SSB & CW, 2007 & 2008 Russian DX, 2007 CQ WPX SSB and CW contests, the 2007 CQ WW SSB and CW tests, the 2008 ARRL DX Contests, 2008 WAE CW and the 2008 CQ WPX SSB.
(Radio-sport.net has tried to be as accurate as possible. If you find a mistake, or that your score line is missing a contest result, please send us an email and we will be happy to check and correct the numbers.)
The qualifying rules allow you to submit your top eight scores from certain contests. No more than four may be from multi-operator efforts.
You will note that some scores in the spreadsheets have been colored in. All multi-ops are noted with a yellow background. Scores from a contest operation outside of your home WRTC region are colored in blue.
A score that was both outside your home region and from a multi-op has a purple color.
