The results of the 2007 CQ WPX CW Contest made only minor changes in the five European qualifying regions for the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championships in Russia, as LY6M moved into the lead of EU #3.
The overall top score from Europe continues to be from Vladimir Askenov RW1AC, as he tries to lead his fellow Russians into the WRTC. 21 qualifying spots are at stake.
in EU #1, Philippe Nouchi F6IFY extended his lead over Matteo Marzilli IZ3EYZ. Nouchi used a single op qualifying score of 514 points to extend what had been a slim lead of just 21 points.
While Marzilli actually totaled more points in WPX CW, it was his fifth multi-op score, which meant those 574 WRTC points could only replace his lowest multi-op tally of 408 points from the 2007 ARRL SSB contest. That meant his score only went up by 166 points overall.
Eight of the top nine operators in this region all scored over 500 points, showing the importance of the WPX CW test.
The top four operators in EU #1 all qualify as WRTC team leaders.
Here are the top five results in that region as determined by radio-sport.net. A full spreadsheet link for each region is available.
EU #1 includes 3A-9H-C3-EA-EA6-CT-CU-F-G-EI-I-T7-TK-ZB2

In EU #2, Ladislav Vegh OM2VL was the only one of the top nine operators in the region not to post a 2007 WPX CW score for WRTC qualifying, but he still has comfortable lead over Bernd Och DL6FBL.
Overall, five team leader slots are available in EU #2. The only change in that top five was DJ1YFK, who edged his way into a qualifying spot with a 624 point performance in WPX CW. OM3LA, who was in 5th, dropped back to 9th place.
Here are the top five scores in EU #2: EU #2 has ON-PA-LX-DL-OE-HB-HB0-SP-OK-OM-HA

In EU #3, Dainius Savicius LY6M jumped ahead of Jurgis Ignotas LY2CY by claiming 497 points in a low power WPX CW effort. With LY2CY getting no points, Savicius now owns a 225 point lead in this region, where three of the top scorers are Lithuanians.
Lurking back in fourth place and fifth place are two contest heavyweights who still don't have a full complement on eight scores, as Tonno Vahk ES5TV and Toni Linden OH2UA take aim at a WRTC spot.
The top five scorers qualify for a WRTC team leader position.
EU #3 is SM-LA-OH-OZ-OY-TF-JW-JX-LY-YL-ES

In EU region #4, Andy Kotovsky UU4JMG did not post a 2007 WRTC score for CQ WPX CW, so he lost his overall lead to Roman Tkachenko UR0MC, who moved up from third place.
This region has been the hardest by disqualifications in WRTC contests, as four different operators are now out of the chase for the 2010 WRTC.
Two of those ops are in the top seven, as Andi Kazantsev UU0JM was DQ'd in WPX CW and Dimitry Stashuk in the 2007 IARU.
Under the 2010 WRTC rules, anyone who is disqualified from a qualifying contest is not eligible for the competition in Russia.
Radio-sport.net will continue to list the totals of the disqualified stations in the spreadsheets, but not in the overall summaries printed here. EU #4 is UR-EW-ER-LZ-SV-YO-YU-S5-9A-ZA-Z3-T9-4O

As mentioned at the outset, the overall European leader is also the leader of the European Russian region, EU #5, as Vladimir Askenov RW1AC heads the Russian WRTC battle.
Unlike the rest of Europe, EU #5 only has two team leader slots available, and right now that belongs to Igor Burykh UA3QDX.
In fourth place overall is another disqualified entrant, as Valery Komarov was DQ'd in the 2007 EU HF Championships. His scores will remain in the radio-sport.net spreadsheets, but will not be listed here. EU #5 is European Russia
(Radio-sport.net has tried to be as accurate as possible. If you find a mistake, or feel your score line is missing a contest result, please send us an email and we will be happy to check and correct the numbers. Please remember that it is your responsiblity to track your progress and submit your score to the WRTC sponsors.)
You will note that some scores in the spreadsheets have been colored in. All multi-ops are noted with a yellow background. Scores from a contest operation outside of your home WRTC region are colored in blue.
A score that was both outside your home region and from a multi-op has a purple color.
The qualifying rules stipulate that no more than four of your eight best scores can come from a multi-operator effort - AND no more than four of your scores can be from outside your "home" region.
