HI3TEJ Grabs First In WRTC Central America; WP3C Close Second, HP1WW Third

Already armed with the #1 Single Operator Ranking from radio-sport.net, Teddy Jiminez HI3TEJ now owns the lead in qualifying from the Central American division for the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championships.

Jiminez used a top low power score in his region to grab 665 points in the 2007 CQ WW SSB contest, and jumped over Alfredo Velez WP3C into first. Velez trails by only 34 points because of his decision to do single band entries in last year's CQ WW tests. Those do not count for WRTC points.

Keeping pace with those two is Olli Rissanen HP1WW, who gained 661 points in CQ WW SSB after his operation at OA4WW in 2007.

The Russian qualifying criteria gives Central America one "team leader" slot for the WRTC, based on the eight best scores in WRTC qualifying contests. Here are the unofficial numbers as determined by radio-sport.net.

  • HI3TEJ 2,793 - (5 scores)

  • WP3C 2,759 - (4 scores)

  • HP1WW - 2,421 - (8 scores)

  • HI3CCP - 1,777 - (4 scores)

  • XE2K 1,500 (3 scores)

The full results - all unofficial - are available on a spreadsheet for Central America

There are two qualifying events left for stations in Central America, but results must also still come in from six contests that were held earlier this year (Russian DX, WPX CW, WPX SSB, IARU, WAE CW and WAE SSB.)

The unofficial results produced here by radio-sport.net include the final published results of the 2006 and 2007 IARU, the 2006 and 2007 WAE CW and WAE SSB, 2006 the CQ WW CW and SSB contests, 2007 ARRL DX SSB & CW, 2007 Russian DX, 2007 CQ WPX SSB and CW contests, the 2007 CQ WW SSB and CW tests and the 2008 ARRL DX Contests.

(Radio-sport.net has tried to be as accurate as possible. If you find a mistake, or that your score line is missing a contest result, please send us an email and we will be happy to check and correct the numbers.)

The qualifying rules allow you to submit your top eight scores from certain contests. No more than four may be from multi-operator efforts.

You will note that some scores in the spreadsheets have been colored in. All multi-ops are noted with a yellow background. Scores from a contest operation outside of your home WRTC region are colored in blue.

A score that was both outside your home region and from a multi-op has a purple color.
