With winning low power efforts from Central American in both the 2007 WAE SSB and CQ WPX SSB Contests, Teddy Jiminez HI3TEJ made up big ground in the fight for one team leader slot in the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championships in Russia, but still trails Alfredo Velez WP3C.
Velez had led by over 1200 points after his own top effort from the 2007 Russian DX Contest was factored in, but Jiminez used two LP wins to make up over a thousand points. WP3C now leads by just 200 overall.
WP3C's lead could be in danger later this year when more scores roll in from the 2007 CQWW DX Contests, as Velez participated in both as a single band entry.
Under the 2010 WRTC rules, single band and QRP entries are not eligible for WRTC qualifying points.
Behind the top two are several stations who could jump even higher, as HP1WW, XE2K and NP2L all have only a few WRTC qualifying scores.
The Russian qualifying criteria gives Central America one "team leader" slot for the WRTC, based on the eight best scores in WRTC qualifying contests. Here are the unofficial numbers as determined by radio-sport.net.
The full results - all unofficial - are available on a spreadsheet for Central America .
The unofficial results produced by radio-sport.net include the final published results of the 2006 and 2007 IARU, the 2006 and 2007 WAE CW and WAE SSB, 2006 the CQWW CW and SSB contests, 2007 ARRL DX SSB & CW, 2007 Russian DX and 2007 CQ WPX SSB contests.
(Radio-sport.net has tried to be as accurate as possible. If you find a mistake, or that your score line is missing a contest result, please send us an email and we will be happy to check and correct the numbers.)
The qualifying rules allow you to submit your top eight scores from certain contests. No more than four may be from multi-operator efforts.
You will note that some scores in the spreadsheets have been colored in. All multi-ops are noted with a yellow background. Scores from a contest operation outside of your home WRTC region are colored in blue.
A score that was both outside your home region and from a multi-op has a purple color.
