NN3W, K5NA, K7RL, W9RE LEAD US WRTC

With scores added from the 2008 ARRL DX Contests and the February NA SSB Sprint contest, three of the four US regional leaders have stayed the same, with Rich DiDonna NN3W the only new leader in the East Coast based NA #1 region.

VE3AT, VA7ST LEAD WRTC CANADA FIELD

The race continues to be close in Canada's NA #5 qualifying region, as Ron Vander Kraats VE3AT still owns a narrow lead over Yuri Onipko VE3DZ in Canada's Eastern WRTC section.

Out West the leader remains Bud Mortenson VA7ST, though he has a new challenger in second place. Check where the Canadians stand in the battle for two WRTC spots with the radio-sport.net spreadsheets. NEW

ONE NEW WRTC LEADER IN EUROPE

There were no major shakeups in the European WRTC standings as results were added in from both ARRL DX Contests in 2008, as only one leadership switch occurred in EU #4, where UU4JMG is now back at the top of that WRTC region.

In the other four regions, the leaders are still F6IFY (EU #1) OM2VL (EU #2) LY6M (EU #3) and RW1AC (EU #5) - Check all the spreadsheets to see where all the other Europeans stand in the race for 21 team leader slots to WRTC 2010 in Russia. NEW

ASIA WRTC: UN9LW, UA9CLB, JH4UYB LEAD

Results from this year's ARRL DX COntests had little effect on the leaders in Asia's three WRTC qualifying regions, as the top spots all remained in the same hands, with JH4UYB in AS #1, UA9CLB in AS #2 and UN9LW in AS #3.

LU1FAM BACK WITH PY2NY IN WRTC SA LEAD

While PY2NY continued to control the lead in the Brazil-only WRTC section of South America, Lucas Maiorov LU1FAM is back again in the lead of region SA #2, as results were added from the ARRL DX Contests.

ZL1AIH, YD1JZ STAY IN WRTC OCEANIA LEAD

While ZL1AIH and YD1JZ are still atop the standings in the race for two team leader slots in Oceania, the big moves came from two Hawaiian contesters, who made a big jump in the OC #2 section.

The ARRL DX tests helped Alfredo Velez WP3C, as he extended his lead in the Central American WRTC qualifying region over HI3TEJ.

WRTC 2010 FOCUS SHIFTS TO WAE CW

Qualifying for the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championships enters a critical phase beginning this weekend with the Worked All Europe CW Contest. European competitors have only five events left to earn WRTC points, while US and Canadian stations have nine, with eight of them before the end of November. MORE

"DRESS REHEARSAL" FOR WRTC 2010

With rules changes to mimic those that will be used for the World Radiosport Team Championships in 2010, twenty-one Russian two-man teams will use a Field Day style operating event to see what to expect in two years. Addressing complaints from a variety of operators, the Russian sponsors of the 2010 World Radiosport Team Championships have decided to allow more of those participating in a multi-operator contest effort to be eligible to use WRTC qualifying points from those contests. MORE

August 2008 WRTC Scores Update

Updates are now out for all qualifying regions, adding the scores of the 2008 ARRL DX Contests. In September, radio-sport.net will add the 2007 CQ WW results as well.

Each region has its own web page as well as separate spreadsheets that let you look at the scores of all contesters around the world.
